"Front. In. Behind. Here. Now." from the "Temporality of the Impossible" series, featuring solo violin pieces by Buccino, Cassidy, Iannotta, Lim, Saunders, and Tasca at ArtBase
Dejana, violinist, sound+silence explorer, and performer, born on 43°18'58.5"N 21°54'39.5"E, obtained her Bachelor performance and teaching degree at the Faculty of Art at the University of Niš, Masters and Postgraduaat music, performance degree at the Royal Conservatory Brussels (with Oistrakh and Bouckaert), and completed advanced program for contemporary music lead by Ictus (Brussels) and Spectra (Gent) ensembles at School of Arts Gent. She is actively performing as a soloist, as part of the "LAPS" ensemble, duo Momitani-Sekulic, and violin and live electronics duo with Gilles Doneux. Currently, she focuses on her research “Temporality of the Impossible”, at CeReNeM+ReCePP, Huddersfield (UK), that explores thinking the future in the present as the past, in contemporary violin repertoire. Her other artistic works include research in the field of interactive sound installations and video. Passionate in acquiring knowledge, Dejana is equally passionate in sharing it, and is therefore actively engaged with teaching.
