The proposed research project aims to explore how the work of Bauhaus Architect Max Bill (1908-1994) has contributed to advance social idealism maintaining the approach that the architect is a servant to humanity with a conscious moral obligation towards the present and future life. I will aim – through exclusive access to archival material, past communications, and primary data from my own connection to Max Bill – to make the unknown work of Max Bill known, which will constitute an important contextual entry to modern history and theory of architecture. The project will furthermore develop and lead to the production of a collective record of Max Bill’s oeuvre as related to issues of social responsibility, interdisciplinary and sustainability.
